As the economy resurges following the recent easing of COVID-19 Lockdown restrictions, it has become more imperative than ever for members of the public to acquire insurance. This is because, just like the COVID-19 Pandemic, many risks present themselves without any warning. This underscores the need for one to institute some sort of safety net to avoid drowning in financial loss caused by the unfortunate events. It is upon this background that the Insurance Brokers Association of Uganda (IBAU) is embarking on rigorous sensitization and awareness of the public to take up insurance under a campaign called “Beat the risk”. The campaign launch is taking place at the IBAU Secretariat located at the UMA show grounds. Mr. Solomon Rubondo, the IBAU Chairman is the Chief Speaker at the launch.

With the “Beat the Risk” campaign, the Insurance Brokers Association of Uganda (IBAU) seeks to implore the public to make insurance part and parcel of their day-to-day lives, treat it as a necessity and not just an option. This is through presenting various scenarios where insurance is the buffer against unbecoming loss. The campaign also has a key health spin-off where it blends seamlessly with Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer Awareness.

October is universally recognized as the Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer Awareness month. The campaign message is clear. You can “Beat the risk” of Breast Cancer & Cervical Cancer through regular testing which facilitates early diagnosis that in turn steeply increases the chances of successful treatment. The healthcare partners for the “Beat the risk” campaign include: Alexandra Medical Center, Cambridge Health Medical Center & SAS Clinic who are offering free breast cancer examinations & discounted cervical cancer screening throughout the month of October as part of the “Beat the risk” campaign.
